Certification Locations

LAKE JULIETTE - Open Water Certification Location - The lake is 3,600-acres and is maintained in cooperation with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. The area we train in has an average depth of 20-25 feet with a sandy bottom and visibility in the lake during the summer averages about 5-8 feet. There is not anything to see at the lake other than a passing fish every ounce in a while. This is a lake that offers a convenient local option for us to do training. Before choosing this option, please be sure that you will be comfortable diving in a low viability environment.

BLUE WATER PARK - Open Water Certification Location - A 26-acre former limestone quarry located in Pelham, Alabama. Visibility ranges from 25 - 75 feet in the summer to 50-100 feet in the winter. There is an abundance of aquatic life includes bass, sunfish, catfish, bream, bluegill, Japanese koi, carp, freshwater jellyfish, and turtles. Divers will also enjoy the many underwater attractions including fire trucks, cars, boats, jet skis, school bus, and the rare “freshwater dolphin.”
Blue Water Park offers multiple training platforms which makes it a perfect training location for new and experienced divers!

VORTEX SPRINGS - Open Water Certification Location - A 225-foot-diameter crystal clear spring and is the largest diving facility in the state of Florida. Vortex Spring is recognized as one of the best and safest dive training facilities in the country. The spring produces approximately 32 million gallons of crystal "gin" clear water daily at a year-round temperature of 68 degrees. With crystal clear water and multiple training areas this is a great training location for the beginning diver.

BLUE GROTTO/DEVILS DEN - Open Water Certification Locations - Blue Grotto is the largest clear water cavern located in the heart of freshwater spring country. Blue Grotto lets you dive down to a depth of 100 feet in crystal clear year-round 72 degree water while always being able to see the surface. Devils Den dates back to prehistoric times and offers crystal clear water, ancient rock formations, stalactites, fossil beds that date back 33 million years. Devil's Den has a 120 ft. surface diameter and a mushroom shape below the surface with a maximum depth is 54ft and the water is 72 degrees year-round.
